Ruby (Tootie) Elswick age 42, passed away, Aug. 11th, 2016, surrounded by her family.  Ruby was born November 25, 1973 in Radford, and was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace M. Biggs and Helen H. Biggs as well as her husband James T. Elswick.  Ruby’s employment for many years was with Walmart Pharmacy in Fairlawn.  As witnessed by the many posts by fellow employees and customers to social media she was known for her compassion and loving manner and will be greatly missed.  Prior to this she worked in the healthcare industry for many years starting while still in high school.  She was a healthcare aide for several years and then an LPN.  Ruby was a very generous, gentle and beautiful woman.  Her passion was her son, family, pets, friends and as anyone who knew her - reading.  She was a great mother, sister, aunt and friend to many.  Ruby’s lasting legacy is that she never saw anyone in need that she did not try to help.  She managed to maintain an old time gentile nature constantly in the face of adversity.  Left to cherish her memory is her son Dominick Jackson Biggs, sisters Brenda Conner, Beth Witherspoon, brothers Mason Biggs and wife Penny, John Biggs and wife Missy; along with special nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins and friends.  Ruby was a long time member of the LDS Church in Radford, where she took great joy in the fellowship she had with her church family.  Visitation with the family will be 5 to 7 pm Friday at the LDS Chapel at 900 Pendleton Ave Radford Va. and a funeral will follow at 7pm.  Burial will follow Saturday at Highland Memorial Gardens.  Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting  Arrangements by Seagle Funeral Home, Pulaski.
