About Us

Our History

Our original founder, James Frederick Seagle, began his career in 1842 as an apprentice and worked the earlier part of his life for other local companies. James Frederick originated our business in 1880 as cabinet makers and undertakers serving families of Southwest Virginia with care and compassion. Like many undertakers of that time, we evolved from our cabinet and furniture operation to our present modern facility. Our funeral home is spacious enough to serve all, but small enough to provide a home-like atmosphere. The interior is decorated with taste and elegance, and the result is a gracious environment with warmth, charm, and character, accented by a large chapel seating 200 or more people.

The caring and experienced professionals at Seagle Funeral Home are here to support you through this difficult time.  We offer a range of personalized services to suit your family’s wishes and requirements.  You can count on us to help you plan a personal, lasting tribute to your loved one. And we’ll carefully guide you through the many decisions that must be made during this challenging time.

You are welcome to call us at any time of the day, any day of the week, for immediate assistance. Or, visit our funeral home in person at your convenience.  We also provide a wealth of information here on our web site so you can learn more from the privacy of your own home.
