Throughout The United States the "American Traditional Funeral" was established as a customary element of the "American Traditional Family". Historically, the "American Traditional Funeral" primarily consisted of the deceased being properly embalmed, cosmetized, dressed and placed in a casket. This enabled the family to come to closure by viewing the deceased while preparations were being scheduled for a church, home, funeral home, or graveside service. Prior to the 1950's most "wakes" were held in the family home. Today, even with the newness of cremation, we still see much of the same details that were widely utilized by our ancestral families. Seagle Funeral Home has been a traditional piece of importance to many families in Southwest Virginia since our formal beginnings in 1880. Through our experienced, and licensed owners we are continuing to provide the same traditional services with a modern touch of class.

Cremation Services

In keeping in step with the Traditional American Funeral, one may exercise their choice of selecting a "Full Service Cremation." One may be embalmed properly, dressed, cosmetized, and placed in an inexpensive cremation casket. The benefits are: (1) allowing a final closure for family and friends, (2) allowing for a traditional service either in a church or the funeral home and cremation to follow.
