William Winton Porter, Jr.

William Winton Porter, Jr., age 74 of Pulaski, died Saturday, May 21, 2022 at his residence.  He was born in Wythe County on December 12, 1947, and was the son of the late Nina Arnold Porter and the late William Winton Porter, Sr.  He was a veteran of the United States, having served in the Army.  He was a retired Heating and Air conditioning Tech owning Pulaski Burner Service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters; Shirley Ayers, and Peggy Saul.  He is survived by his long-time companion of over 30 years; Helen Dean of Pulaski:  son; Stephen (Patricia) Porter of Proyer, OK:  a daughter; Tracie Cortez of CA: sisters; Linda Viars of Ivanhoe, Diane Porter of Ivanhoe, and Louise Shipwash of Piny, Wythe County.  He is also survived by three grandchildren: Stephen James Porter, Jr., Amy Beth Porter-Stig, Joshua Winton Ray Porter and great grandchildren: Lila Porter, Kaden Porter, Ezekiel Willan Porter, Emberleigh Stig, Hunter Fields, Jaxson Hurst, Izabella Hurst, and Roman Stump: special nephew; Greg Ayers Step-son: Jerry Dean, Jr.: Step-daughter: Dana Michelle Dean: Step-son; Jerry Hughes Dean, Jr.:  step-grandson; Jacob Hurst, step-granddaughter, Amanda Stump.  

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin with Pastor Randal Jones officiating.  Pallbearers will be: Jerry Dean, Greg Ayers, Josh Porter, Stephen Porter, Reggie McGinnis, and Jon Hall.  There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
