After graduating Pulaski High School, in the great class of 1968, he continued his education at the University of Miami, where his good friend Johnny Calfee already attended. Moving back to Pulaski after graduating, he was given a job opportunity at Claytor Lake State Park in maintenance. Then, it was on to Nashville TN, where his friend and guitarist Mike Hutchens lived. He gained employment at the Nashville Shoe Store of “The Stars”. Seeing several music stars and entertainers, he fitted Loretta Lynn with shoes. Moving back again to Pulaski, he worked at the Volvo Truck Manufacturing Company for 11 years. His final job was the love of taking care of his cats, which he loved dearly. Roswell was a kind, loving and humorous person, having been named “Most Comical” in his high school class.
Roswell is survived by his sister and her husband; Margaret S. and Donald Ratcliff of Pulaski: his brother; John Seagle of Pulaski; his cousins Thomas Mason Seagle, II, of Pulaski, and family, and Ruth Seagle Bushong and her family; his aunt, Caroline Crist Council and family of Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by his nephews, Scott and Jennifer Johnston Ratcliff and their family, and Don Jr. and Missy Duncan Ratcliff and their family.
A private graveside service will be held in the Seagle family lot in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Pulaski County Animal Shelter. In memory of Roswell, lets all be kind to one another.
