Jo Ann Allen, age 73 of Pulaski, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Lewis Gale Hospital – Pulaski. Jo Ann was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 26, 1950, and was the daughter of the late Joe Allen and Arline Hayes Allen.
Jo Ann was an army brat and moved around all over the country. She finally settled in Pulaski County, Virginia. Sewing was her passion. She could create anything. Throughout her 50 plus years of sewing, she has made clothing, drapes, wedding gowns, tuxedos, and just about anything you could imagine. Many prom attendees, brides, and bridal attendants have worn her creations for their special days.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Megan Blevins. She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Connie (Dawes) Blevins of Pembroke, Robert (Melissa) Smith, Jr. of Dublin, and Katherine (Will) Harris of Radford: sisters; Ruby (John) Awbrey of Portland, Tennessee, and Barbara (Mark) Isaacs of Rutledge, Tennessee: brothers; Terry (Sherry) Allen of Taylorsville, Kentucky, Rich (Cindy) Allen of Louisville, Kentucky, and Joe (Cheryl) Allen, Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky. She leaves behind 6 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, with one on the way as well as many close friends and her Cowboy Church family.
