Obituary

James Edward Smith, age 85 of Pulaski, died Tuesday morning, April 4, 2023 at his residence.  Jimmy was born in Pulaski on April 15, 1937, and was the son of the late Thelma Sharitz Smith and the late Weston Whitfield Smith.  Jimmy attended  Pulaski High School.  After high school, Jimmy became a veteran, having served in the United States Marine Corp. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife:  Donna Peacock Smith: a brother:  Larry Gene Smith:  a sister; Betty Lou Rupe.  Jimmy is survived by his daughter:  Ann Laskey and her husband; Andy of Fort Mill SC:  a brother; Donald Dean Smith, and his wife Pam of Laurel, MD:  a sister; Mary Ann Simmons of Laurel, MD:  two grandchildren; Keira Laskey and Shane Laskey. 

Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 2,  2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, with military honors.  There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
