Obituary
Hattie Joanna Cox Haulsee, age 80 of Hiwassee, died Monday, March 27, 2023 at Highland Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Dublin. She was born in Pulaski County on October 15, 1941, and was the daughter of the late Violet Lee Turpin Cox, and the late Hiram Wirt Cox. After graduating from high school, Hattie went to New River Community College obtaining her nursing degree and achieving her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked as an LPN at the New River Regional Jail for many years and also worked at Dublin Elementary School as a school nurse.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: James Voyce Cox, and Mark Steven Cox. She is survived by her only son: Ryan Lee Haulsee of Saltville: a brother; Dallas Lee Cox of Dublin: sisters; Tish Tallant of Blacksburg, Beulah Ziegs of California, Missouri, and Freeda Clevinger of Pulaski.
Hattie wished that she be cremated and that there be no public service. The family may have a gathering in her remembrance, at a later date.
