George W. Galloway, III

George Washington Galloway, III, age 83 of Pulaski, died Sunday, May 21, 2023, peacefully at Highland Ridge Rehabilitation Center.  He was born on December 30, 1939, and was the son of the late George W. Galloway, Jr., and the late Hazel Chaffin Galloway.  A life-long resident of Pulaski, G.W. was also preceded in death by hi loving wife, Peggy Hall Galloway. 

Surviving relatives include his brother-in-law, Jeff (Linda) Hall of Tobaccoville, N.C.; two nieces, Andrea (Michael) Epperly, and Jill (Brandon) Warren.  He is also survived by many cousins. 

G.W. was a graduate of Pulaski High School, Virginia Tech, and Radford College.  He taught 5th grade for many years in the Pulaski County School system at Newbern Elementary School.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of the former Pythagoras Masonic Lodge #239 A.F. & A.M.,  and a member of Snowville Masonic Lodge #159, and a life-long member of the Anderson Memorial Presbyterian Church. 

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin, where military and masonic honors will be conducted.  The family will briefly receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
