Douglas Chaffin Umberger, Sr.

Douglas Chaffin Umberger, Sr., age 76 of Pulaski, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 10, 2024.  He was born on September 24, 1947 in Pulaski.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Chaffin Umberger and Mary Sue Roseberry Umberger, and brothers, Jimmy Umberger and Alvin Umberger and daughter, Sherry Gayle Umberger and granddaughter, Kayla Nicole Umberger.  He was a truck driver for Pulaski Furniture Corporation for 38 years and then retired from Ryder Inc. 

He is survived by his dear and loving wife; Patty Burton Umberger, son, Douglas Chaffin Umberger, Jr. and his wife Lori, and daughter, Vickie Sue Umberger Clark and her husband Bruce, granddaughter Amber Noel Umberger Cadiero and her husband, Aaron of Bedford, granddaughters, Adriel Renae Reed and Ashley Nicole Reed of Snowville, and grandson Tyler Clark and Great Granddaughter, Olivia Grace Clark.  Sister Mary Umberger Sayers (Kermit), sister Barbara Umberger Fitzgerald, and sister-in-law, Jane Sutphin Umberger, great-great niece, Everleigh Albert, and a very special friend, Randall Jones. 

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Memorial Christian Church Cemetery in Draper.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

The family would like to thank the staff of Medi Healthcare and Hospice, and the Pulaski Health and Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care.  A special thank you for the excellent care given by caregiver Kristin Albert.
