Deborah McGee Gessner, 65, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in Morristown, TN. She was born in Radford, VA, on January 21, 1955, the daughter of Alfred S. and Peggy S. McGee. She was a graduate of Dublin High School in 1973. She attended New River Community College and later graduated from Grand Canyon College in with a B.A. in Theology/Christian Studies. She worked previously at Radford Hospital, Radford Police Department, and the VA Department of Corrections. She was also a volunteer for the Pulaski County Life Saving Crew for many years. Deborah never met a stranger and was generous to a fault. She married William “Bill” Gessner, in 1995 and resided in Dublin, VA. The couple later retired to White Pine, TN in 2008. She was an active member and leader in the White Pine Church of God until 2019. Deborah was preceded in death by her mother Peggy S. McGee, step-grandson Andrew Lutz and husband William J. Gessner. She is survived by her father Alfred S. McGee; brother, Michael S. McGee; sister-in-law, Sarah Y. McGee; niece, Amanda McGee; nephew, Jacob McGee; stepdaughter, Chandra Lutz; step son-in-law, Alvin Lutz; step granddaughter Tiffany Lutz and stepson Nathan Gessner. Special thanks and love to Deborah’s cherished close friend Heather Gregory who was by her side through thick and thin. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Seagle’s Funeral Home in Pulaski, VA. There will be a graveside service at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, in Dublin, VA on Tuesday January 26, 2021 at 2:00 pm.
