Beverly Rae Chandler

Beverly R. Chandler, age 85 of Dublin, died Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC.  She was born on December 27, 1937 in Casper, Wyoming, and was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Updike Edgerton and the late Owen E. Edgerton.  Beverly was a long-time member of the Newbern Community Christian Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers:  Gary Lee Thomas, and Richard E. Edgerton: grandson; Chandler Spencer Dowell, and a late husband; Jack Gary Chandler.

She is survived by her son: Richard Gary Chandler:  her daughter;  Pamela Dowell of Dublin:  Sister; Carolyn Nadine Thomas of Akron, CO.  Beverly is also survived by three grandchildren:  Jessica Wallace, Jacob Chandler, and Autum Chandler, and great-grandsons; Darion and Levi.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. at the Newbern Community Christian Church with Pastor William Neeley officiating.  Pallbearers will be Jacob Chandler, Charles Wallace, Zakk Jones (standing in for Chandler Spencer Dowell), Bill Chandler, Mark Shumate, Clifton Rice, and honorary pallbearer is James “Rooster” Tolbert.  The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.  Interment will follow the church service, in Newbern Cemetery.
