In working at Pulaski Community Hospital many years ago, Mary Sue was a special friend and co-worker.  She demonstrated kindness and compassion to everyone.  Prayers are with the family during this so very difficult time.

Susan...Helen and I are so saddened over hearing the news of Mary Sue's passing.  She and I talked at length the night before she was going into surgery. I had reminded her of our cantata which she so faithfully attended for many years. We hugged and I told her I would have our church place her on our prayer list. At the time of our cantata, I had no idea Mary Sue was fighting for her life. At present, Helen and I are out of town and won't be back until Sunday.  Please know that we will be there in thought and prayer. I will miss seeing your mom out and about. I had the privilege of working with her in the Emergency Room during the early years of my nursing career as well as Home Health as she was bringing her career to a close. Please give our condolences to Brooks and other family members. Your mom will long be remembered in the lives she impacted and in the community. Rest in peace, my dear friend, Mary Sue.

To Brooks, Susan and family. So sorry to hear about your Mom.
She was a sweet lady. I would often run into her in town and we always had a hug for one another.  She will be missed.  Love and prayers to all.  Dru Burcham

Mary Sue was a very special lady.  I worked with her in the early 80s at Pulaski Community Hospital.  The last 10 years we have had a summer home at Claytor Lake and I often ran into her at the grocery story and at Hokie events.  Our last conversation in Food City was a special one and I will always remember it.  She conquered many health problems over the years and a fighter.  I guess God wanted her home with him this time.  Rest in peace dear lady.
