Richard Allan Hill, 74, of Dublin, went home to his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 20, 2019.  He was born in Trona, CA on August 11, 1944 to the late Gillespie Carlisle Hill and Zora Robinette Hill.  Rick was raised in Bristol, TN and graduated from East Tennessee State University.  He married Linda Fletcher on September 2, 1972, and they became members of Draper Valley Baptist Church in September of 1977.  Rick worked as a school teacher at Max Meadows Elementary in Wythe County for 39 years.  Rick is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Fletcher Hill, his two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer & Brian Bolling and Angela & Sam Saadat; and grandchildren, Margaret and Conley Bolling.  A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. at the Memorial Christian Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Willie Overton, and the Rev. Allan Pierce officiating.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, at Seagle Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., after which we will proceed to the cemetery in procession.

Mr. Hill was one of my absolute favorite teachers and was a lot of fun when he drove the school bus. I'm sure he will be a great teacher in Heaven as well. Prayers for the family for comfort until you meet again. God Bless!

I am so sorry for your loss. No words can express what a loss it is to not only his family and friends but to every child her ever met. It was an honor to know him and I'm so thankful that he was not just my teacher but he also taught both of my kids.
