Music by The Piano Brothers

David Stuart Farmer, 72 of Dublin passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday January 19th 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Kent Farmer of Dublin, Mother, Madeline Brillheart Farmer of Dublin, Brother Bobby Kent Farmer of Dublin, Sisters, Virginia Dawn Martin of Dublin and Catherine Farmer Bayless of North Carolina. David is survived by one brother, Gary Farmer of Lebanon Virginia, one daughter, Lisa Farmer Lovern of Dublin, Grandaughter, Abby Lane Lovern of Bedford, Grandsons Rory Larkin Lovern of Murietta California, David Logan Lovern of Salem and Andrew Leighton Lovern of Bedford. Great-Grandsons, Noah Lovern, Levi Lovern, Asher Lovern, Elic Lovern, Pierson Lovern and Roman Lovern. He leaves behind a host of neices, nephews, cousins and extended family. David was a graduate of Dublin High School where he was active in football, wrestling, and band. He continued his education at New River Community College, Bluefield College, Mosley Flynt School of Real Estate and Auctioneer School. Dave was the owner/Broker of Farmer Real Estate Auction and Appraisal Company in Dublin. He was a Member of the Masonic Lodge in Dublin Virginia. He was currently working for the United States Census Bureau. He attended Dublin United Methodist Church from a child and had fond memories of the church picnics and Easter egg hunts that were held at the home of his parents, Kent and Madeline Farmer. David was a talented musician. He was passionate about music and made sure he instilled his love of music in his daughter, his Grandchildren, and his great Grandsons. He never missed a recital or a concert, as painful to the ears as some of them may have been at times. He always encouraged his family to keep playing. He was a bit of a Historian, and could recite the smallest of details when remembering events and people in the Dublin area. He was a great story teller. David impacted a multitude of people in his life, but remained humble and kind. His greatest joy was his family. He was fiercely devoted and loyal to his daughter, Grandchildren and Great Grandsons. He loved his family beyond comprehension which was evident to everyone he met. He will be sorely missed by so many. Funeral services will be held on Thursday January 25, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Dublin United Methodist Church, with the rev. Don Handshew officiating.  Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Thursday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Rest in Peace, my lifelong friend and special cousin. Your presence and counsel will be missed by all of us. Our condolences to Lisa, Gary, grandchildren, and great-grandsons. Many of our conversations centered around you all, and the rest of our extended family. When we talked, I always knew that we both would laugh before the conversation was over. I am sure that there is a lot of laughter in the Farmer corner of Heaven today!

Dear Family,

Please accept my sincerest condolences for the loss of your precious family member. Turning to our loving Heavenly Father, Jehovah at this difficult time can bring you much hope and comfort. He has promised through His loving Son, the Christ, that "all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." (John 5:28,29) May you be strengthened by this reliable promise from God.
