My condolences from all of our Vanguard Furniture family in Hillsville, VA. We had the privilege of working with and getting to know Alan. He spoke of his love for upholstering cars and transferred those skills to furniture. He was always eager to learn and took pride in his work. I will never forget him asking me if it was okay to wear his Hawaiian shirts. (His trade mark). He brought fun and laughter to others and we are thankful to be apart of his work family. You will be in all of our thoughts and prayers. May God comfort you during the days to come. God Bless you all.

Dear Louise and family, It seems you and your family have had more than your fair share of suffering. This latest lost in indeed tragic. Alan was a bright spot in so many lives and will be missed more than can be imagined. Words cannot ease your pain but maybe in time, the outpouring of love and concern we all feel for each of you will bring some comfort as you try to accept what cannot be changed. With deepest sympathy, DeAnna and Jerry

I first met Alan when we attended the Men's Impact Weekend at Liberty University a couple of years ago. It was a joint trip between the two churches, Mtn. View and Newbern UMC. It was also a nice chance to get know some of the folks from our sister church a little better. We all hit off with Alan right away. He was always a fun guy to be around and I loved the fact that he always laughed at my bad jokes. About a year ago, maybe more, Stacy and I bumped into Alan while having lunch at Wendy's. He sat down and joined us and we all had a nice time together. We thought very highly of Alan and will miss him dearly. We are praying for Yvonne and the family and are comforted in knowing he is walking those streets of gold with our savior. God bless you guys...
